A background in energy trading accounting, corporate financial training, and success as a commercial real estate broker laid the foundation for Camille’s passion as a personal investor. Camille is a 2011 graduate of RampCorp Austin, a program for women owned businesses sponsored by Texas State University, IBM and venture capitalists in the Austin area. Her first book in the Financial Woman series, Earn, Grow, Give; Simple Steps to Creating a Rich Life became available in August of 2011. Her works are also featured in a second book, Smart Women Live Their Why, highlighting successful entrepreneurial women.
Camille’s passion for investing began when she saw her father successfully time the purchase of tax free municipal bonds selling at deep discounts in the early 1980’s. Her father’s theory was that “the last thing to go out would be the lights”, and he was able to spot incredible value in those bonds. He was right; the bonds greatly appreciated and paid tax free interest up to 20% over the next decade, allowing her father to take an early retirement and enhancing her parent’s lifestyle. Isn’t that what investing wisely is all about?
Following those early lessons, Camille loves finding value everywhere, from undervalued securities to John Hardy jewelry on ebay.
