Historical Stock Market Decline Numbers

Tyler at dividendmoney.com wrote a nice article about statistics for stock market declines, which points out that the average bear market lasts 13 months and has an average decline of 28%. The current bear is off more than 50% from the October 2007 peak. Take one minute to read it, especially if you are not sleeping well at night due to the decline in your stock market portfolio. Could these numbers be telling us something?
