Financial women are conscious spenders because they know this allows them to invest more money, and ultimately reach their financial goals sooner. A financial woman knows smart spending also helps her participate more in charitable giving, and leave the world a better place. She knows that wealth encompasses so much more than just money. With conscious spending in mind, I want to share one of my favorite Christmas gifts for my sons. It may even touch on making the world a better place!

My boys are now older teens, but this gift can be adapted for any age. For years I have created coupon books as gifts for various occasions. I include things like a free shoulder rub or foot massage, getting out of one chore, a trip to the coffee shop, and getting to choose what’s for dinner. I write the coupons on index cards with colored markers, hole punch them, and run a small ribbon through the hole.

Creating the coupon books is a lot of fun. I always enjoy the time we spend together as a result of the gift, so, I guess it’s really a gift to me, too! Happy holidays!
